The windmills, the wind turbines but also the architecture of the Beauceron farms testify to the importance of the wind in the social and economic life of the residents.

Marked by the presence of farms whose square courtyards allowed the farmers to protect themselves from the wind, the large spaces of the Beauce favored the establishment of windmills from the 15th century to grind wheat or crush bark. Many windmills are still visible today and can be visited.

Five century after, it’s the wind turbines that punctuate the landscape and use the wind to make electricity.
