In the Neolithic period, the first farmers and stockbreeders settled on the Beauce plateau and exploited the fertile soil. Later on, the Carnutes, a Gallic people whose farms became villas in Roman times, settled in Beauce. But it’s during the Middle Ages that the Beauceron habitat settles until today.

The land of Beauce was the witness of both the Hundred Years War and the Wars of Religion. During the Franco-Prussian war of 1870, the vast expanses were the scene of bloody battles that marked the memories. Entire families were again decimated by the WW1. Then, from June 40, the Beauce knew 4 four long years at the German time during the Beaucerons illustrated themselves in the resistance.
